A note from our chair

I feel slightly overcome as I begin this letter because although it marks the beginning of the life of a new charity it also acknowledges the culmination of a lot of hard to work bringing to fruition the germ of an idea that began in 2004.

I have been very privileged to have been visiting Kenya since 2002 with a number of fellow Christians who have become very good friends. We embarked somewhat fearfully on our first trip organized by Peter Hills who had lived and worked in Kenya for many years before retiring to the UK, but who remained faithful to Kenyan friends working in a number of different poverty relief projects.

From that very first trip I became deeply moved by the volume of need in Kenya as well as the amazing faith and sheer determination to make a difference in the face of overwhelming odds. With my fellow travelers we too became mobilized to make a difference. On our return to the UK we spoke about our experiences, we raised funds and we prayed.
