Projects

Our next adventure if we can raise the funds in time is to travel to Western Kenya in July 2008 to work in a rural project where there are many orphans as a result of AIDS and other diseases. Being so far from the capital there are few resources available to alleviate the community’s needs and we aim to assist in a number of ways – by building a community church that can be used as part of the school as well as a community centre, assist with the purchase of land to grow food for the orphans, resources for the school, a pump for a well and other such requirements.

This time we are aiming to take 10 team members and 6 team leaders. As well as working in the project the team members will have the opportunity to have education, training and careers advice, take part in voluntary indigenous art, craft, music and drama workshops as well as an introduction to the Christian Faith programme while in Kenya. They will visit local people in their homes, eat as local Kenyans do and finish their trip with a short safari.
