CLARE SANDERS : TABS Trustee
Clare first visited Kenya in 2007 with her mum, TABS founder Rachel Sanders, and her sister Ellen Sanders, now Chair of TABS. During that trip, Clare witnessed the beginnings of Rachel’s vision for TABS International and saw firsthand how that vision began to grow and take shape. Deeply moved by the children and communities she met, Clare has remained inspired by the ongoing impact of the project and proud to see Ellen and the wider team continue to honour and build upon Rachel’s legacy. Clare became a Trustee in 2024.
About Clare
Clare is a musician, teacher, and holistic therapist who has lived in the beautiful West of Ireland since 2004. Before university, she volunteered in India and later returned to the UK to study music, followed by training as a secondary school music teacher. Her passion for traditional Irish music led her to Ireland, where she completed a Master’s in Education.
Today, Clare specialises in teaching young people and adults with dyslexia, alongside teaching a variety of instruments and voice. She continues to perform regularly as a musician and, in a recent fundraising effort for TABS International, climbed Mount Kenya with her sister Ellen and fellow musicians and work buddies.
Clare’s outlook
Clare is a strong advocate for inclusive education that reaches people of all ages, backgrounds, and locations.
